Vaccination against influenza does not appear to protect against recurrent coronary events in older adults, despite a possible link between acute respiratory infections and such events, reported Dr. Lisa A. Jackson of the University of Washington, Seattle, and her colleagues.

A population-based cohort study of 1,378 adults with a history of myocardial infarction revealed no association between receiving an influenza vaccination each year and subsequent risk of MI.
