The last-place Wyoming Cowboys have nothing left to lose, now that head coach Vic Koenning has lost his job.

That has University of New Mexico coach Rocky Long expecting trickery from the Cowboys when they visit Saturday afternoon for Koenning's final game.

"We have to be aware of trick plays a lot more so than usual," Long said at his weekly news media luncheon Tuesday afternoon.

"They're liable to go for every fourth down, they're liable to fake every punt, and they're liable to fake every field goal."

Wyoming officials gave Koenning the option to complete the season as coach. He says he decided to do so because he felt he owed it to his players.
