2002 DEC 5 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- In view of the current controversy surrounding the use of hormone replacement therapy, a new study from Theta Reports, "Hormone Replacement Therapy: Industry Alert," evaluates the latest market forecasts shedding light on the recent clinical findings influencing millions of American women.

While HRT has been the treatment of choice for symptoms associated with menopause, hysterectomies, and amenorrhea for over 20 years, recent research indicates that the risks associated with this treatment might outweigh its benefits. A trial of combined estrogen/progestin, which was just halted, showed an increase in the risk of invasive breast cancer by approximately 26%, in addition to increases in the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
