Absolute Radio UK says it is making one of the "most significant commitments" yet to local commercial radio by investing more than 1m [pounds sterling] in eight licence bids.
The group, whose executives include former Capital Radio group head of programmes Clive Dickens, plans to target five regions as it looks to build up a portfolio of stations over the coming year. Among those being pursued is the third West Midlands regional licence, which is expected to receive a high number of bids.
