It was Bryony's birthday recently so we had a cake. There was much discussion as to who should make it because I cannot bake to save myself.

Tina came up with a neat solution as Phoebe, her goddaughter, was staying and she might want to bake Bryony's cake. With the self belief of a 10-year-old, she agreed.

We decided on chocolate cake. As the supervising adult I thought I had better contribute, I said to Phoebe that I would do the chocolate coating for the cake. Much weighing of ingredients and spilling of flour ensued.
