Interbrew strikes again in Germany.

The world's third-largest brewer, Interbrew SA, appears close to securing yet another acquisition in Germany, this time Brauergilde Hannover AG of Lower Saxony, for which Interbrew has offered as much as [Euro]575 million ($575 million).

The bid Friday, Nov. 15, by Brussels-based Interbrew, which earlier this year purchased Brauerei Beck & Co., the brewer of Beck's beer, already has the support of the management board and supervisory board of Brauergilde Hannover, which owns 85.4% of brewer Gilde Brauerei AG. The company has a 3.7% share of the German beer market but is dominant in its home region of Hannover.
