2002 NOV 14 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Instrumentarium Imaging, a division of Instrumentarium , announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has cleared the Delta 32 and Delta 32 TACT diagnostic digital breast imaging systems for marketing in the U.S.
Delta 32 and Delta 32 TACT are intended to be used for diagnostic digital spot and 3D imaging. The workstation of Delta 32 and Delta 32 TACT can also be used "stand-alone" for viewing images. Digital 3-D mammography imaging is based on the TACT (Tuned Aperture Computed Tomography) algorithm.
As an advanced diagnostic tool, this new Instrumentarium Imaging system with TACT can improve detection of changes within breast tissue that might otherwise be missed, improve verification of targets for biopsies, and help reduce the number of biopsies needed.
