Data General has introduced the fifth generation Eclipse MV/30000 multiprocessor. The MV/30000 is based on a single-chip, custom CMOS microprocessor, which implements the Eclipse MV/Family architecture on a single integrated circuit.

The MV/30000, which runs the AOS/VS II operating system, is available in single through quad processor configurations. It represents the high end of the company's midrange line and extends midrange performance from 5 MIPS (million instructions per second) for the MV/9500 to 19 MIPS for the …
