Interpublic's FCB Worldwide has promoted Scott Hollingsworth to become its European president, filling a position that was left vacant after the departure of Tony Douglas in 1999.
Hollingsworth, who is running the network's Latin American region from Miami, will transfer to London in November and report directly to the FCB international president Harry Reid with a brief to develop the network in Europe.
Hollingsworth will be charged with expanding the network, both through organic development of existing offices and clients, and through acquisition.
'We consider the UK, Germany, Italy and Eastern Europe all to be areas in which we want to expand, and we have big plans to action,' Reid said.
He refused to be drawn further on FCB's acquisition strategy, but it is thought he will be looking to plug gaps not only in FCB's above-the-line offering, but also in the below-the-line sectors as the network seeks to enhance its positioning as a total ...
