Four Houston companies sign contracts for major projects

Four Houston companies have signed multiyear, multimillion-dollar contracts in the final days of 1990:

* Enron Gas Marketing Inc., an Enron Corp. subsidiary, has signed a 23-year contract to supply the New York Power Authority with more than 33 million cubic feet of natural gas per day, beginning Jan. 1. Over the entire life span of the contract, the deal has an estimated value of $1.3 billion.

For the first 10 years of the contract, Enron will supply gas at a fixed price. Thereafter, the company will sell the guaranteed volumes of gas to New York Power at prices which will be adjusted monthly to reflect current market conditions. …
