Burton Farbman is not an easy man to sum up.
As a kid in the late fifties and early sixties, he was a trouble maker -- when far more innocent things than drugs or guns and could earn you that label. Farbman went to a military academy to straighten up, and later shocked friends and family alike by becoming a player in Detroit.
He's chairman and CEO of Farbman/Stein and Co., a 23-year-old firm based in Troy that buys and sells real estate -- and has developed more than 8 million square feet of it.
