Team Bank eyes remaining National Bancshares branches

San Antonio's second-largest bank holding company, National Bancshares Corp., could have an interesting future ahead of it now that the federal government has seized nine of its 12 banks, industry analysts said.

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. declared nine of NBC's 12 subsidiary banks insolvent last week and sold them to Dallas-based NCNC Texas National Bank. National Bancshares, left battered and torn with three banks, a handful of assets and obligations to bondholders, has announced it will seek bankruptcy protection through Chapter 11 reorganization.
