The changing face of the National Labor Relations Board, which until recently did not have a quorum of three members from its full roster of five, is likely to bring "significant changes" in the direction of transport law, an NLRB Republican member predicted last week.

Michael J. Bartlett told the 16th annual meeting of the North American Transportation Employee Relations Association that it was "likely" that the new Republican-controlled board nominated by President Bush would take a more active stance on some transport issues. The new board also will be taking a close look at the longstanding Teamsters' complaints against Overnite Transportation Co.
