Cosmopolitan Lady launches aggressive expansion plans

The new owners of Bedford-based Cosmopolitan Lady have launched an aggressive expansion plan that should add 40 new locations during the next five years and diversify the firm into the family fitness market.

The 10-year-old chain, purchased Dec. 1 by Modern Fitness Centers Inc., recently opened the Cosmopolitan Athletic Club in Bedford, the company's first location to serve both men and women. The rest of the chain's nine locations are for women only.
