2002 OCT 24 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- by Maria G. The investigators measured IL-18 levels in 40 obese women (mean body mass index, 36.4 kg/m[superscript]2) who followed a calorie-restricted weight-loss diet for a year and in 40 normal-weight women (Weight loss reduces interleukin-18 levels in obese women. J Clin Endocrinol Metab, 2002;87(8):3864-3866).
