From the land of the Big Gulp comes word of a new use for cupholders. 7-Eleven and several fast food packagers have devised ``re-closable'' plastic cups. Why? So foodstuff like gummy candy and pork rinds can be enjoyed from the convenience of your cupholder. It has resulted in a 10 percent increase in fast food category sales for 7-Eleven.

The Third Annual NASCAR Memorabilia Auction will be held at Bass Pro Shops/Outdoor World in Concord, North Carolina, on Oct. 12. Items slated for auction are a race-used and autographed fire suit and shoes from Tony Stewart; a race-used hood bearing the Harley-Davidson insignia from Rusty Wallace; and a race-used and autographed quarter-panel from Winston Cup championship and rookie-of-the-year contender Jimmie Johnson's Chevrolet. Bombardier will offer an Indy 500 interior on the Learjet 40 when it debuts in 2003. For the cost of the custom seats the buyers will get four VIP passes to the 500, the Brickyard 400 and the U.S. Grand Prix F1 race.
