Court upholds FTC regs on Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. (Internet Law Update).

Affirming the lower court's summary judgment for the FTC, the DC Court of Appeals has upheld the FTC's privacy regulations promulgated to implement the privacy provisions of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (the GBLA). [Trans Union v. FTC, D.C. Cir No. 01-5202 (July 16, 2002).]

Trans Union filed suit in the district court contending that the FTC's regulations unlawfully restrict a credit reporting agency's (CRA's) ability to disclose and reuse certain consumer information.
