Arrivederci Michael
Michael, I've been a fan of Champ car racing since the early '50s and an Andretti fan since the mid-'60s. I've watched you race hundreds of open-wheel races and rooted for you to win on every one of them. But except for the Indy 500 I won't see you again, since you've jumped to the IRL. I have no interest in an all-oval, kit-car, NASCAR knock-off series. Good luck in your new career.

Borrowed thoughts
Regarding your Sept. 16 ``Stolen by Design?'' cover story: As a graduate of Art Center College of Design (1976), I'm appalled at Art Center's exploitation of its students. Students paying over $100,000 for an education should not give the college any ownership rights of student work, only to publish it for college promos.
Though artists have fought long and hard for intellectual property rights, they're still being exploited by industry. I've given up many rights to designs over the years, but through hard knocks I've learned to benefit from my ideas, something Art Center never touched on in its teachings.
