Extensis, the pre-press software developer, has been bought by the US arm of Japanese firm Celartem Technology for around pounds 5.8m (dollars 9m) cash.

Extensis, a wholly owned subsidiary of ImageX since 2000, employs 66 staff at its UK office in Northampton and its headquarters in Portland, Oregon.
