Clark County pegged for 405-unit multifamily project

A 405-unit apartment project rivaling the Portland area's most luxurious multifamily developments is being planned for a choice Clark County site overlooking the Columbia River.

Mikam Inc. of Vancouver has purchased 30 acres due north of Portland International Airport and plans to start the first phase of its $30 million-plus project by summertime, said Gary Kaster, Mikam spokesman.

Mikam hopes its RiverPointe apartments will attract a new breed of well-heeled tenants to Clark County. Projected rents of $800 to $1,200 a month would far exceed those of other Clark County apartments.
