Boddingtons is to celebrate its Mancunian heritage in a new press campaign produced by Bartle Bogle Hegarty.
The ads, which follow on from the agency's 'It's a bit gorgeous' TV work, continue Boddington's preference for humorous creative with a regional slant.
Featuring the endline, 'Part of Manchester since 1778', the ads pay tribute to the contributions the Lancastrian city has made to the world.
One of the first ads commemorates Emily Pankhurst, who started the women's rights movement in Manchester. This execution features a female hand covering an empty pint of Boddingtons, preventing her husband from having his usual amount.
A later execution features a footballer's leg, with a pint of Boddingtons masquerading as a sock.
