Trying to keep ahead of rapidly expanding Starbucks Coffee Japan, Doutor Coffee has signed on soba (buckwheat noodle) restaurant operator Kojimaya to open a self-service Doutor Coffee Shop in Nagaoka, Niigata Prefecture. The shop is taking up residence inside a Daiei supermarket.
