DuPont's FAST plate processor is completely unique. Simon Eccles finds out what all the fuss is about
DuPont's FAST dry 'thermotechnology' processor is the first significantly new technology in flexo plate processing since the introduction of photopolymers in the 1970s. By eliminating liquids entirely it slashes Cyrel plate production times because you don't have to wait hours for them to dry. DuPont says that plates can be produced 300% faster than by using conventional solvents.
The idea is that now you can take advantage of digital workflows and speedy processing to get a plate onto the press in less than an hour instead of half a day.
