E-mail: sex, debt baldness, sharks and enlargement E-mailing is a common practice in modern times. Abstinence from the activity invokes accusations of conservatism and can lead to social banishment. Before readers become suspicious, I hastily declare that I have e-mail facilities, but endeavour to employ them sparingly and with discrimination. My reasoning is that the freneticism typifying contemporary life needs to be moderated.
If a message is urgent I use the technology and if I am approached through the medium I reply in kind. Otherwise I am in favour of more contemplative methods with a view to improving the quality of communication.
