KBA hopes to secure the lucrative contract to replace News International's (NI) press lines - an order that would boost web sales in a static market.
It is believed that NI has yet to reach a decision on whether to replace its press lines with either more MAN Rolands or KBA firepower.
KBA marketing director Klaus Schmidt said that NI could opt for a line of triple-width KBA Commanders, which have six plates across by two around.
'There aren't that many big projects around at the moment. We are in negotiations with News International, as is another supplier - but we won't know if we have it until the fourth quarter,' said Schmidt.
