2002 SEP 11 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- A company is voluntarily withdrawing its tuberculosis vaccine from the market in Britain as a precautionary measure, it said August 9, 2002.
PowderJect Pharmaceuticals, PLC, said it made the move regarding its BCG [bacillus Calmette-Guerin] vaccine, which is used in schools, after being notified of an interim suspension of the company's license for the vaccine in Ireland. That move followed testing that found a small number of batches did not meet the end-of-shelf-life specification, the company said in a statement.
