2002 SEP 5 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Pregnant cat owners' worries about the possible negative effects that their pet could be having on their health is resulting in extra pressure on Cats Protection's rehoming services, the charity announced.
"There seems to be a lot of unnecessary anxiety among mothers-to-be at the moment about the dangers of keeping a cat whilst pregnant. In the vast majority of cases, it really isn't necessary for a pregnant woman to rehome her pet," said Rhona Apps, Cats Protection's chief veterinary officer.
Cats Protection, the U.K.'s largest and oldest feline welfare charity, is aware that pregnant women can be worried about contacting toxoplasmosis from their cat.
