The number of young people who choose to work part-time instead of full-time is estimated at 1.51 million, according to a brief from a white paper on labor discussed at a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

Many young people quit their jobs voluntarily and graduates settle for part-time jobs without even trying to find full-time employment, the white paper said.

As the workforce grays, young people are distancing themselves from society, the white paper said.

The white paper stresses the need to create opportunities for young people to work while going to school because the tendency to choose part-time work may increase the overall unemployment rate. …
