Hunt grandchildren launch court battle over energy firm

A legal squabble has erupted among the grandchildren of Dallas oilman H.L. Hunt over the assets of a dissolving energy concern.

The battle centers on Hunt Energy Corp. and Petro-Hunt Corp., two companies controlled by the sons of William Herbert Hunt, whose attempts to corner the silver market in the early 1980s with brother Nelson Bunker Hunt are legendary.

Late last month, a trust established by H.L. Hunt's first wife, Lyda Bunker Hunt, filed suit in state district court, claiming Hunt Energy's assets are being unjustly transferred to Petro-Hunt and Consolidated Medical Disability & Life Trust …
