Clear Channel leaving downtown for Harte-Hanks Tower

Local broadcasting firm Clear Channel Communications Inc. is moving its headquarters from downtwon to larger and pricier space at Harte-Hanks Tower on the North Side.

"It's not completely a done deal, but we expect to move in a couple of months," Clear Channel President L. Lowry Mays said this week.

Clear Channel currently occupies 4,000 square feet of space on the fifth floor of Republic of Texas Plaza on East Houston Street. The company has been located in the 6-year-old, 13-story building, which rises out of the renovated facade of the historic Texas Theater, for the last five years.
