CMB's new structure begins to be revealed

CMB--formed last year by the merging of Carnaud and Metalbox -- has begun moves to ensure all its businesses within the CMB Packaging group operate autonomously.

But at the same time it has given the contract for all CMB distribution in the UK to a single company.

CMB has also sold its peripheral tinplate manufacturing division, and it has taken control of half of Tunisia's state-owned metal packaging company.

Autonomous units

From January 1 the food can business of CMB Food Cans and Components (UK) will be known as Foodcan UK.
