Santa Fe Energy Partners L.P. reported completion of the Pure Gold Federal 8 No. 1, a significant gas discovery located approximately 25 miles southeast of Carlsbad in Eddy County, N.M.
The Pure Gold was completed at a rate of 5.4 million cubic feet of gas per day from the Poker Lake sand in the Atoka formation. The well tested through a 19/64-inch choke from perforations between 13,966 feet and 13,985 feet with flowing tubing pressure of 4,560 pounds per square inch.
