* Toyota customer engines?
Toyota Motorsport chairman Ove Andersson has confirmed that Eddie Jordan made a tentative approach to the company about customer engines, but he said Toyota is not yet in a position to consider such an arrangement. Andersson's remarks give credence to rumors that Honda will end its partnership with Jordan Grand Prix at the end of this season-a year ahead of schedule-and will concentrate on the BAR team. Word is that Jordan has also spoken to Jaguar Racing about Cosworth engines.
* F1 to Turkey?
Turkey has emerged as a runner for a future F1 race after its motorsports association persuaded the national government to fund a $40 million GP circuit. The cities of Antalya, Istanbul, Izmir and Kirsehir are all competing for the event, which could take place as early as 2005. Bahrain, China and Egypt also have new Grand Prix projects, but there will be no schedule changes in 2003.
* Sadler to Yates?
More 2003 Winston Cup team/driver lineups are coming into focus. Elliott Sadler is close to being an ``official lead-pipe cinch'' to replace Ricky Rudd in a Ford at Robert Yates Racing. Rudd, meanwhile, expects to make an announcement around Brickyard 400 weekend. It's either a deal to drive Dodges for Chip Ganassi/Felix Sabates, or to replace Steve Park at Dale Earnhardt Inc. At Pocono, team owner Bill Davis said it would be appropriate to speculate that Park will replace Hut Stricklin on Davis' two-Dodge team. Mike Wallace has replaced Stacy Compton in A.J.
