Toshiba Corporation has announced that it has become an official sponsor of the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/ Japan [TM] and 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany [TM] and that it will be "Official IT Partner" to FIFA in both competitions.

The FIFA World Cup [TM] has long been the world's biggest single sports event and the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan [TM] will be the 17th competition since the Uruguay finals in 1930. The first FIFA World Cup [TM] of the 21st century, the Korea/Japan finals will also mark the first time this major event has been held in Asia.
