2002 AUG 1 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Low-intensity behavioral therapy can significantly reduce urinary incontinence in older women, according to a study in the July 2002 issue of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
Women age 55 or older who underwent bladder training experienced a 50% decrease in incontinence frequency compared with a 15% reduction in women who did not receive training. At the end of therapy, 31% of the women treated experienced no urinary incontinence and 52% experienced at least a 50% decrease in weekly incontinent episodes.
