A8 update.(changes to Audi A8)(Brief Article)
By this time next year, Audi's 2004 flagship A8 will be appearing on our nation's highways, sporting more power, a sixth gear and a one-piece aluminum spaceframe.
Due to debut at the Paris motor show this fall, the next A8's 4.2-liter V8 engine gets a boost to 330 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque, up from 310 hp and 302 lb-ft for the current model. The horsepower increase gets the standard A8 closer to the 360 hp offered in its S8 sibling, but we can expect the performance model's numbers to grow when it arrives about one year after the A8.
