Taipei, July 2, 2002 (CENS)--The island's decades-old tobacco and wine monopoly system became history yesterday with the Taiwan Tobacco and Wine Board officially transformed into a corporate body. Speaking at a ceremony marking the inauguration of the Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corp. (TTLC), Finance Minister Lee Yung-san said that the new firm should upgrade its product quality, renovate its business operations and expand its international markets based on a cost-and profit-oriented management strategy
