FAVOURITES Penang Sports Club and Sungai Petani fell to shock defeats in the preliminary stages of the Elite Cricket National under-12 championship in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

Playing at Kelab Aman, Sungai Petani fell to a defeat by eight wickets at the hands of Selangor representatives, Petaling Jaya Club.

PSC, meanwhile, were outscored by one wicket by Seremban at the Kilat Club ground, for their first loss after two victories in their previous matches.

Kuala Langat massacred Ipoh by 109 runs with opening batsman Fazly Daros registering 63 undefeated runs, while defending champions Gemen-cheh beat Bellamy by 144 runs. …
