They liked it. But they were disappointed, too.
Despite projections that more than 260,000 people would visit the Las Vegas Valley during the four-day Independence Day weekend, business leaders offered mixed views on this past weekend.
The operators of several Las Vegas-area resorts said their businesses were hurt by visitors who stayed in the city for only part of the extended weekend. One Strip executive, who asked not to be identified, said occupancy rates at his property tailed off significantly as the weekend progressed.
