Archie Pitcher is stepping down as the executive director of the International Advertising Association's UK chapter. At the age of 74, he is thought to be one of the oldest people still actively involved in the industry in Britain.
He will be succeeded this month by Angus Grieve, a former pan-European account director on the Ford business at Ogilvy & Mather. He recently spent three years in Taiwan as a senior vice-president at Bozell/FCB Worldwide on its DaimlerChrysler account.
Pitcher's advertising career spans more than half a century, during which he was associated with some of the UK's most famous campaigns.
