Manhattan Cafe held off pre-race favorites Jungle Pocket and Narita Top Road on Sunday to win the Spring Tenno-Sho at Kyoto Racecourse.

Veteran jockey Masayoshi Ebina rode the 4-year-old son of top sire Sunday Silence over the 3,200-meter distance in 3 minutes 19.5 seconds to collect the 132 million yen top prize.

Jungle Pocket, the second pick in the 11-horse field, finished second a neck behind the winner. Top favorite Narita Top Road finished another half-length back in third place.
