Survey shows brokers split over extending PSE's trading hours.

STOCKBROKERS are split over a proposal to change the Philippine Stock Exchange's trading schedule, according to a recent survey.

A survey conducted by the PSE's floor trading and arbitrage committee on April 12 to 17 showed that 59 or the stock exchange's 116 brokers wanted to retain the current 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. schedule.

The rest said they wanted it changed, although they themselves were split over a proposal from foreign stockbrokerages to extend the session to 4 p.m. Twenty-five stockbrokerages voted in favor of this proposal, while 22 said they wanted the trading hours extended only up to 3 p.m. Ten others presented …
