Yukos plans transatlantic Urals VLCC. (US export prospects).(Brief Article)
Yukos president Mikhail Khodorkovsky told Argus this week that his company is planning to send a large "test" cargo to the US. On 29 May, Karran--which charters vessels for Yukos--fixed a 235,000t VLCC, the Astro Lupus, from Greece with options to go to the US Gulf coast or eastern Canada.
The vessel is due to load off Agioi Theodoroi near Piraeus on 12 June. Yukos plans to fill it with three 70,000- 80,000t Urals cargoes it is due to load in early June at Kavkaz and Feodosiya, according to market sources.
