Hibbert's Traces are mainly charcoal and pastel drawings, which on the face of it are less troubled and grim than some of her recent work. The portrait of her husband and child, Gito & Tiva, is tender and lyrical, and landscapes like the Grootfontein series seem straightforward and uncomplicated.
