THE Securities Commission (SC) has given a RM250,000 grant to Badan Pengawas Pemegang Saham Minoriti Bhd to assist in the set up of the minority shareholders body.
SC chairman Datuk Ali Abdul Kadir presented the grant to Badan Pengawas chairman Tan Sri Abdul Halim Ali at a cheque presentation ceremony yesterday.
In line with the Finance Committee's recommendations to facilitate greater shareholder activism in Malaysia, SC expects Badan Pengawas to promote adherence to principles of good corporate governance.
