CHICAGO -- The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation said that chef and television celebrity Ming Tsai would serve as spokesman for National Food Safety Education Month in September.

Tsai, who is chef and owner of Blue Ginger restaurant in Wellesley, Mass., also is the star of "East Meets West" with Ming Tsai on the Food Network. He recently won an Emmy for "Outstanding Service Show Host." In addition, he won the 2002 James Beard Foundation Best Chef in the Northeast Award.
