Ozzy Osbourne... The name alone conjures up distinctive images. Baby- boomer parents tend to see a bat-eating devil-worshiper who once drunkenly urinated on a historical landmark in Texas. For Generations X and Y, it's most often the image of a heavy-metal pioneer who endured decades of drug and alcohol abuse. But thanks to MTV's new reality show, "The Osbournes," we now have a whole new dimension of Ozzy to enjoy.
"The Osbournes" follows the dysfunctional days in the lives of Ozzy, his wife, Sharon, and their children Jack and Kelly. (Eldest daughter Aimee opted out.) Since its U.S. debut in March, the show has scored record ratings. And over the next few months, it will be invading your living rooms as it debuts around the world on MTV's regional networks and various local stations.
So, what's the fuss about? Well, Ozzy's not your average dad. When he's not jetting off to appear on Jay Leno's "The Tonight Show" or jamming in the recording studio, the middle-aged and oft-addled Ozzy spends most of his time wandering around his L.A. mansion aimlessly, muttering and cursing to himself.
