Foundation presents award to Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Children's Vaccine Program.(Brief Article)
2002 JUN 5 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- The Hepatitis B Foundation presented its prestigious Founders' Award to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Mark Kane, director, the Children's Vaccine Program, at its annual Crystal Ball on April 27th. The joint award recognizes their outstanding contributions towards eradicating hepatitis B worldwide. The Hepatitis B Foundation's Crystal Ball will be held at the Doylestown Country Club in Doylestown, Pa.
In 1998, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation launched a revolution in global health with a $100 million donation to establish the Children's Vaccine Program (CVP) located in Seattle, Washington. Its mission is to speed delivery of vaccines to protect the world's children against vaccine- preventable diseases.
