2002 MAY 23 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Digene Corporation (DIGE) announced that three regional health plans have approved and instituted formal coverage policies to include testing for human papillomavirus (HPV), using Digene's Hybrid Capture 2 (hc2) HPV DNA Test, as part of their cervical cancer screening offerings.
The health plans are: Excellus Health Plan, with 2.1 million members in Upstate New York; HIP Health Plan, with over 760,000 members in the New York City area; and John Deere Health Care, Inc., with over 500,000 members in Illinois, Iowa, Tennessee, and Virginia.
