Ira Carlin, the Universal McCann Worldwide chairman and chief executive, has taken the newly created post of worldwide chairman of its Magna Global media negotiation unit.
Carlin, 54, is joined by the former Media Edge senior executive Hans Germeraad, who lost his job as the chief executive of Europe, the Middle East and Africa last month.
Germeraad relinquished his responsibilities at the merged Mediaedge:CIA to the chairman, Mainardo de Nardis, and now takes on the new role of regional director for Magna Global Europe.
'The Magna model is taking hold across a number of major advertising markets,' Interpublic's chairman and chief executive, John Dooner, said.
